Additional commentary by Joan C. King, regarding her journey along the path to Cellular Wisdom as well as her quest to find ways to share her insights with others ...
Looking into my heart and deeply feeling my dissatisfaction in my current work, I took a sabbatical to search for new directions. My search led me to this old Hindu legend.
"...there was once a time when all human beings were gods, but they so abused
their divinity that Brahma, the chief god, decided to take it away from them and
hide it where it could never be found.
Where to hide their divinity was the question. So Brahma called a council of the
gods to help him decide. "Let’s bury it deep in the earth," said the gods. But
Brahma answered, "No, that will not do because humans will dig into the earth
and find it." Then the gods said, "Let's sink it in the deepest ocean." But Brahma
said, "No, not there, for they will learn to dive into the ocean and will find it."
Then the gods said, "Let's take it to the top of the highest mountain and hide it
there." But once again Brahma replied, "No, that will not do either, because they
will eventually climb every mountain and once again take up their divinity." Then
the gods gave up and said, "We do not know where to hide it, because it seems
that there is no place on earth or in the sea that human beings will not eventually
reach."
Brahma thought for a long time and then said, "Here is what we will do. We will
hide their divinity deep in the center of their own being, for humans will never
think to look for it there."
All the gods agreed that this was the perfect hiding place, and the deed was done.
And since that time humans have been going up and down the earth, digging, diving,
climbing, and exploring--searching for something already within themselves.

For many years, from the time I received my Ph.D. in 1972 until I took the sabbatical in 1997, I studied the basic building blocks of our bodies, our cells. I was seeking answers. How did the cells in the brain work together as a team, particularly, how did they set off an avalanche of signals that resulted in ovulation every month.
Encountering the legend led me to ask a very different question. What if our cells had a more profound function, in addition to being the basis of biological function? What if our cells were our inner teachers of how to thrive? Of how to live exuberantly?
These questions sent me on a new search. Over the next year and a half I posed these questions over and over again until I wrote my first book "Cellular Wisdom" published in 2004 and now being reprinted as "The code of authentic living. Cellular wisdom."
Then I conceived the idea of unfolding this inner wisdom to respond to particular challenges faced by women, in work, in relationships and by men. These topics are treated in workbooks entitled: Cellular Wisdom for Women. An Inner Work Book. Published in 2008. Cellular Wisdom at Work. An Inner Work Book. Which I am currently writing. Cellular Wisdom for Relationships, which I will begin writing shortly, and Cellular Wisdom for Men.
We can be set free when we understand the power of our inner wisdom, housed in the energy, the life force that keeps our cells alive, moment by moment, every moment. The smallest lapse in the flow of this energy and we would cease to exist. Imagine, we have the answers to our most challenging situations within our own life force. We house a magnificent cellular Wisdom within. We can call upon it to help us bring forth more and more of our greatness! Who are we to deprive the world of our genius? I ask.
Anticipating invasion by the white people the indigenous peoples sought a safe place to hide their wisdom. One said, "Let's hide it in the rock." The other responded, "Oh no, the white man would surely find it there and destroy it." "Let's hide it in the trees." The response remained the same "Oh no, the white man would surely find it there and destroy it." After many rounds searching for a safe places, one of the elders said "I know, let's place it within. He will never look for it there." They breathed a sigh of relief, for they knew their wisdom was safe.
The story highly impacted me. "What if in all my studies of cells I have missed the deeper truth?" I began the search for the wisdom embedded in the cells and discovered "Cellular WisdomTM."
